I went to the Jekyll and Hyde club on Tuesday night with my girlfriend (further known here as Sue Q ). I was hesitant to go because the last time I came I left with an upset stomach and melancholic. This time was different, I had a blast.
First off, my girl looked amazing, as always.Which is always a good start to any night the city. When we first got to J&H we were introduced by a short lady dressed like some type of mad doctor's assistant. She snickered and rolled her eyes as we walked toward her. She muttered sarcastically "oh, great, a couple". This was going to be one of her many "bits" throughout the night. When we got into the foray we had the doors closed behind us and lights dimmed. Some brief intro about the history of the place and then the ceiling slowly started to descend on us. Fearing being permanently shortened, I quickly looked around and noticed that everyone was shorter than me by a foot. At this point I was wondering if our guide took into account my height and knew when to stop the ceiling from crushing us... After we survived getting squashed we were then taken inside and shown a table.
All in all, the enterainment was so gimmicky and quirky that I couldn't stop grinning and laughing. Something was constantly happening. Although, the food wasn't that great, aside from the burger, the drinks were very tasty and strong. I had something called The Transformation- it more than lived up to it's name. I went from sober to tipsy in three sips. Sue Q had a drink call the Draculita, which I realize also lived up to its name when I saw all the bite marks on me the next morning.
From there we headed to Angel's share where we capped off the night sipping on very meticulous made and sinfully deliciously cocktails.. That’s one thing I notice about A's S it’s a great place to start a night and even better to end it.
Tomorrow's post: Slim's Birthday at Fat Cat or the story of Becoming the World Best Ping Pong Player.
